Scratch My Back

Scratch my Back is only the eight studio album from Peter Gabriel since releasing his self-title debut effort back in 1977.

It is only the fourth release in the past 25 years from the former Genesis man following Up (2002) Us (1992) and So (1986). Scratch my Back is an album of cover versions with Orchestral versions of the following tracks:

  • Heroes (title track from the legendry David Bowie album)
  • The Boy In Bubble (track from Paul Simon multi millions selling Graceland album)
  • Mirrorball (track from Elbow’s Mercury Music Prize winning Seldom Seen Kid album)
  • Flume (track from Bon Iver’s acclaimed debut album For Emma, Forever Ago)
  • Listening Wind (from Talking Heads 1980 album Remain in the Light)
  • The Power Of Heart (2008 track from the legendary Lou Reed)
  • My Body Is A Cage (from Arcade Fire’s second album Neon Bible)
  • The Book Of Love (track originally recorded by The Magnetic Fields)
  • I Think It's Going To Rain Today (track originally recorded by Randy Newman)
  • Apres Moi (Regina Spektor track which featured on her 2006 album Begin to Hope)
  • Philadelphia (Oscar winning song from the movie of the same name written and originally performed by Neil Young)
  • Street Spirit (Fade Out)(closing track from Radiohead’s classic album The Bends)

A second disc also features a cover of the Kinks’ classic Waterloo Sunset.
