Uncut Magazine Snubs British Acts

For album award

Uncut Magazine has snubbed all albums released by British artists for their second Uncut Award. An initial 25 nominations were announced back in September and it included the acclaimed albums from Doves (Kingdom of Rust) and The Horrors (Primary Colours) along cracking efforts from emerging bands such as the Wild Beasts (Two Dancers) and The Xx (Xx).

The original list of 25 has now been shorted by just 8 and it includes the super selling Only by the Night by Kings of Leon and Together Through Life by Bob Dylan.
The full and final list is:

Animal Collective – Merriweather Post Pavilion
Dirty Projectors – Bitte Orca
Bob Dylan – Together Through Life
Grizzly Bear – Veckatimest
Kings Of Leon – Only By The Night
The Low Anthem – Oh My God Charlie Darwin
Tinariwen – Imidiwan: Companions
Wilco – Wilco (The Album)

Last year's award went to American band Fleet Foxes for self-titled debut effort

I'd have put the u2 album on it. A work of genius. I think 20 years ago it would be, but it's probably difficult to justify giving more attention to the biggest band in the world.
