Michael Jackson's Thriller Tops MTV Best Album Ever List
Michael Jackson's classic 1983 album 'Thriller' has been named the Greatest Album Ever by MTV viewers in arguably the funniest 'best album ever' poll.
'Born To Do IT' by Craig David came in second place ahead of classic albums from Guns N' Roses, Radiohead and Nirvana. There was no place in the top 25 for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan but there were places for Usher and Dizzee Rascal.
More than 40,000 votes were cast by fans asked to choose their favourite album since 1981 from a shortlist of 26 LPs. MTV's 'Greatest Album Ever: The Results' will be broadcast on MTV1, MTV2, MTV Base and VH1 on April 11 at 9pm.

yayyyy i would have been angry if it never got voted greatest album ever. Look at the amount of standard it set to the music industry it changed it all.Without thriller there be no ne-yo, chris brown, rihanna, PRINCE and more. There will be no album that will ever compete with thriller as it will remain no.1. MJ and QJ are too good i hope they come back again coz they made history! And i can't wait to see him once again in July!!!! I hope its as good as the HIStory tour!

i dont like craig david either. thank god guns and roses are #3. appetite for destruction is my favorite album ever!!!!!!!! arctic monkeys are also a great band. i dont think today s music is generally crap. some people should stop magnify and idealize the past. times have changed and you should face it. i dont say that bands like the beatles, led zeppelin, rolling stones are worse than today's bands but things have moved on since then. but ror some exeption i think that most of the albums deserved their votes

Back in 1999-2000 it seemed like almost everyone had Craig Davids Born To Do It album, its hard to find anyone who was mature enough at the time to respect good music who didnt have this album when it was out. The difference between Craig Davids album and the albums from bands such as U2, Nirvana etc is that it was accepted at its time across the board by all music listeners and was heavily respected as Craig David was(imo still is) one of Britains greatest singing artists and a new fresh talent with a heavily garage/two-step influence to his music. Craig Davids career would be 10 times what it is now if he wasn't mocked by shows like Bo Selecta, in my opinion he deserves this place and obviously i am not alone in this going by the result.
11 million albums sold for his first ever album in the same year as its launched is very impressive you must say.
