Kasabian Bag Q Best Album Award
West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, the third album from Kasabian has won best album at the 2009 Q Awards which were held in London yesterday (October 26th).
As usual the winners were predictable and the Leicester arena rockers joined the arena were joined by other gong pickers Muse (best act in the world today) and Arctic Monkeys (best live band). Female stars Lady Gaga and Lily Allen both struck gold as did newcomers White Lies and Mr Hudson.
Q Magazine unconditional love for U2 continued by the given the Irish rockers the Q classic album award for The Unforgettable Fire – its gets re-released this week.
Other winners included Spandau Ballet (The Q idol), The Specials (The Q inspiration award), Sonic Youth (Innovation in sound), Marianne Faithfull (The Q icon), Relax - Frankie Goes To Hollywood (Classic song), Edwyn Collins (Q legend), Yusuf Islam (Classic songwriter), Robert Plant (Outstanding contribution to music).
