'Sweet Child O' Mine', the single from to be taken from Guns N’ Roses' 1988 album 'Appetite for Destruction' has been hailed as the greatest guitar riff of all time.
The survey, commissioned by the DVD label Indi Vision UK found that 335 of voters chose Slash's infectious riff ahead of Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' in second place and 'Voodoo Chile' by Jimmi Hendrix in third place. More recent tracks to feature high in the poll were The Whites Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army' and Muse's 'Plug in Baby'.
