Fleet Foxes Win First Ever Uncut Award
'Fleet Foxes' have won the first
ever Uncut Music Award with their self-titled debut effort beating the Mercury
Music Prize winning album 'The Seldom Seen
Kid' by Elbow, 'In Rainbows' by
Radiohead, 'Consolers Of The
Lonely' by The Raconteurs, and the self-titled debut effort from 'Vampire Weekend'.
The Magazine reported that "Fleet Foxes were unanimously hailed by a
panel of industry judges which included broadcaster Mark Radcliffe and ex EMI
chief executive Tony Wadsworth, at a judging session in November to choose the
overall winner from eight shortlisted albums."
The Seattle hippies have just completed a brief UK tour but will return for 2
more dates in 2009 at London's Road House next February. The band also made an
appearance on BBC’s Later With Jools las week.
