Coldplay Bag Another Two Q Awards

Magazine sticks with top bands formula

Q magazine have stuck with their very familiar formula of dishing out their most coveted Q awards to top named bands at the 2008 cermony with Coldplay joining rock giants such as U2, REM, Oasis and Radiohead by taking Best Act In The World Today.

The band have also took the best album gong for an incredible third time with their fourth effort 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' after bagging the award in 2000 for 'Parachutes' and two years later with 'A Rush of Blood to the Head'

Other winners at the event, which was held earlier today in London, were Welsh sensation Duffy (Breakthrough Artist), The Last Shadow Puppets (Best New Act) and Keane took the best track for 'Spiralling'. New Yorker's Vampire Weekend won best video for 'A-Punk' whilst Yorrkshire band 'Kaiser Chiefs' took the best live act.

Aging rockers John Mellencamp, Meatloaf, Cocteau Twins, Glen Campbell, Massive Attack, Adam Ant, Grace Jones and David Gilmour were also in amongst the winners.
