Coldplay Bag Another Two Q Awards
Q magazine have stuck with their very familiar formula of dishing out their
most coveted Q awards to top named bands at the 2008 cermony with
Coldplay joining rock giants such as U2,
REM, Oasis and Radiohead by
taking Best Act In The World Today.
The band have also took the best album gong for an incredible third time with
their fourth effort 'Viva La Vida Or Death
And All His Friends' after bagging the award in 2000 for 'Parachutes' and two years later with 'A Rush of Blood to the Head'
Other winners at the event, which was held earlier today in London, were
Welsh sensation Duffy (Breakthrough Artist), The Last
Shadow Puppets (Best New Act) and Keane took the best
track for 'Spiralling'. New Yorker's Vampire
Weekend won best video for 'A-Punk' whilst Yorrkshire
band 'Kaiser Chiefs' took the best live act.
Aging rockers John Mellencamp, Meatloaf,
Cocteau Twins, Glen Campbell, Massive
Attack, Adam Ant, Grace Jones and
David Gilmour were also in amongst the winners.
